The event that everyone wants to see! Billed as a replica of the boys’ (men’s) Journeymen Fall Classic-HS tournament, arguably one of the
toughest preseason competitions in the country! The Journeymen Classic – Over-Flo features the best of three additional segments within
our wrestling community: Middle School, Women and the Over-FLO Challenge.
MIDDLE SCHOOL: The best of the best middle schoolers (6th-8th graders), from across the USA squaring off in a preseason round-robin format.
WOMEN’S DIVISION: Female wrestlers from around the world will battle it out in a round-robin format under freestyle rules. The age
division is a combo division –
UWW Junior and below.
OVER-FLO CHALLENGE: Didn’t make the cut in the Journeymen Fall Classic-HS due to being late or light accolades? Don’t stress. You can work
your way into the event by wrestling in this mini tournament. Winners of identified brackets earn a slot into Sunday’s competition. For those
who feel that this may be beneath them, almost all of the 2014 participants in the Over-Flo Challenge were state placers or state qualifiers.
OVER-FLO EVENT PHILOSOPHY:
Tier 1 – Best of the Best: This is a true battleground for the hardcore wrestlers. Four, five-, six-, or eight-man or lady round-robin brackets
with all decorated and accomplished opponents. National place finishers get preference. *Eight-man round-robins are two four-man groups
with a cross-over.
Tier 2 – Best of the Rest: the next four or five best-accomplished wrestlers are bracketed together. Four-, six-, or eight-man round-robin
brackets with decorated opponents.
PLEASE DO NOT email or call asking for a particular tier or round-robin bracket. It doesn’t work that way. A coaches’ committee from around the country
ranks the wrestlers, which determines the groupings.
