High School   (subject to change)

  • Double Elimination brackets, wrestlebacks to 8th place   Wrestling begins at 8:00 am Saturday. At this time, we plan to wrestle all rounds up to, but not including, the Quarterfinals, on Saturday, and begin with the Championship Quarterfinals and Consolation Round of 8 on Sunday morning. Wrestling will begin Sunday morning at 8:00 am. This is subject to change.  In an effort to increase scoring and add excitement, we will again be incorporating the new NCAA out of bounds scoring rule: near-falls and falls may occur as long as any portion of either wrestler remains inbounds.   Saturday all championship matches will be 2-1.5-1.5 and consolation matches 2-1-1.

Sunday, all championship matches will be 2-2-2 and consolation 1-2-2.
  • Scholastic Style    Due to time constraints, any matches that go into overtime will use 1 minute sudden death overtime, if no score, followed by tiebreaker rideout (first to score in regulation gets choice)   College out-of-bounds rule will be used   For grades 9-12. 7th & 8th graders may wrestle in the High School Division if they choose to, but may not compete in both the Middle School and High School Divisions.   Please note: due to the size of our tournament, most weight classes are 128-256 man brackets. Please be aware there is a strong likelihood that you will wrestle more than 5 matches in one day.
    • 8-10 wrestlers per weight class will be seeded. Seeding will be done by a committee and will primarily be determined by performance in state and national events. Tournament is run on 27 mats and 2 days (not all mats will be used on Sunday) Certified officials will be used from many different states   Champions will receive custom championship belts and top 8 places are awarded medals. Finalists will receive custom championship singlets.   Minimum rest time between matches is 15 minutes
      • Headgear is recommended but not required for the High School Division  Mouth guards are required for wrestlers with braces   We anticipate the tournament ending around 5-6 pm on Sunday, based on previous years, but cannot give an exact time
